Today we went on a safari! I was sooo excited for this actually. We got up very early in the morning so that we had enough time to see all the animals that where in the National Park of Nairobi. Because most of the animals are asleep after sunrise.
Unfortunately we had some trouble with our van (it was a little bit late), so we were all scared that we couldn't see any animals. But luckily we saw a lot of them. Even some of the Big Five!
At first we saw little monkeys. They were so cute. We even saw some babies. Then when we were further in the Park, we saw ostriches, birds and some crocodiles. I was really amazed that the animals where so close to the van. They could easily walk up to us! After that our driver got a message that there was a lion spotted. So we rushed to go there, and there it was. Omg it was a female lion just 5 meters away from me. I couldn't believe my eyes! She walked so majestic, like she was on top of the world. That was so beautiful. After that we saw a sea of animals. Baby deers, zebra's, buffalo's, donkeys, horses and even giraffes. It was unbelievable to see all these animals up close. The entire safari was just so beautiful. After I was amazed by all the animals, A sudden lion appeared. The big cat stood there in front of me. He just stood there. I looked at him with my mouth open and realized 'oh, I should take a picture!' Then we went to a jungle area of the park where we saw a lot of baboons and big birds. That was a little scary cause baboons are mean monkeys, and they can easily snatch your belongings. That scared me but it was still beautiful. The view was also just amazing! There was a place where you could see all the hills and it was breathtaking. I took a lot of pictures of the view cause I thought it was just so beautiful. After the safari we took a bumpy road to a shelter where they rehabilitate giraffes. I had a double feeling about that because it is also a tourist attraction. So with that thought it was a bit hard to enjoy the giraffes. But I have to admit that I had a lot of fun feeding them.
After that we where all tired so we went back to the guest house. There we played some games with the group and we actually had a regular night :)
Hakuna Matata!
